I'll have to check that out..... right now I've been listening to a lot of softer stuff... stuff that would prolly be considered emo... but I say good muisic is good music... so whatever... lol I've been listening to like... Jack's Mannequin, The Fray, Augustana, this local band caleed Camerata, I really like them, they put on a good show and their drummer is amazing... but yeah... I've also been listening to Edward's Karaoke a bit... lol umm... but although I listen to slow stuff right now... I can turn around and listen to metal songs... well... not TOO metal... but like... Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Trivium, Killswitch Engage.... I'm very unpredictable with music... my favorite kind changes so much, it's mostly based on how I feel... if I'm angry, I'm gonna listen to angry, hard music... if I'm happy, I'll just listen through on shuffle... if I'm sad... I'll listen to sad stuff... and so on and so forth.... lol

I'm with you on that. I listen to whatever music reflects my mood, or the mood I WANT to be in! Variety IS the spice of life! But if you are getting into mellower stuff, you should definately check out some Sunny Day Real Estate (their later stuff is noticably mellower) or Jeremy Enigk's solo work. Very beautiful and moving music. God I keep on hyping up SDRE, but that's only because they totally kick ass and are one of the best bands of the '90's. Deal with it.

You know, they have a myspace page with a few of their songs on it... Always an easy way to check out a band without potentially wasting money on a CD.

And yeah, the '90's were an amazing time for rock music. Even top-40 style bands were coming up with awesome music that sounded very little like anything that had gone before it. It was definately above and beyond anything that has come out in the last 6 years or so. Mainstream rock music today is nothing more than '90's music being re-hashed and revisted. Name a band that is out today and I can probably tell you exactly what '90's band(s) influenced them entirely. What ever happened to originality?

yeah... originality comes in short supply these days.... it seems like it's cooler to be someone or something else.... everything is a copy of a copy of a copy.....
but yeah, I figured I'd add to the list of music I'm listening to... LOTS of Our Lady Peace... lately it seems like they're a gift from God... lol I have yet to listen to the stuff you said to check out... but I'm working on it...

Yup busyness happens... Seems like everyone's pretty busy and stressed out these days with the holidays and everything. You can tell cuz hardly anyone has posted anything on the forums all week!!
Music in general tho... Today I've been jamming to some classic Stone Temple Pilots - Core, great rockin' album all the way through, but you knew that!
